Nakase Tenso Shrine
中瀬天祖神社
This small Tokyo shrine offers a unique look at local history and a rare enshrined object.
What it is
- Originally a Jūrasetsudō, separated from Myōshōji Temple.
- Became Tenso Shrine due to the Shinbutsu-bunri order.
- Now an external shrine of Igusa Hachiman-gū.
- The enshrined object is a phallic natural stone.

- Ichikishima Shrine is on the grounds.
- Inari Shrine is on the grounds.
- Mitsumine Shrine is on the grounds.

- 10-minute walk from Iogi Station.
- Access by bus from Ogikubo Station.
- Access by bus from Shimo-Igusa Station.
