Nogi Shrine is a historic site in Tochigi, with ancient roots and unique cultural properties.
What it is
- Founded during the reign of Emperor Nintoku.
- Dedicated to Uji no Wakiiratsuko no Mikoto.
- Also enshrines Emperor Ojin and Empress Jingu.
- Rebuilt by Sakanoue no Tamuramaro in the Enryaku era.
