  • A lighthouse on Benten Island off Cape Oma within Shimokita Hanto Quasi-National Park.
  • The original structure first lit up in 1921 but was damaged by war and earthquakes.
  • The current second-generation tower was completed in 1953 and became unmanned in 1991.
