Ōmi-dō Temple
大御堂
Ōmi-dō Temple is a historic pilgrimage site, re-established in 1930, with a new main hall.
What it is
- A Shingon-shu Buzan-ha temple.
- Founded between 782 and 806 by Tokuitsu.
- The 25th temple of the Bandō Sanjūsankannon pilgrimage.
- Re-established in 1930 after being abolished in 1871.
What to see
- The principal image is the Eleven-faced Senju Kannon Bosatsu.
- A new main hall was completed in February 2020.
