Oppo-ji Temple is a historic Shingon Buddhist temple with important cultural properties and a unique legend.

- Also known as Saru Kuyo-ji and Kinoto-dera.
- Founded in 736 by order of Emperor Shomu.
- Associated with the legend of the 'Sutra-copying Monkey'.
