What it is

  • Founded in 711 AD.
  • Dedicated to Ukanomitama-no-kami, Ukemochi-no-kami, and Wakumusubi-no-kami.
  • Considered an inner shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha.
  • Known as a guardian deity for working women.

What to see

  • Emperor Komei dedicated 'Chomeibashi' to the shrine.
  • The Inarizuka Kofun, a circular burial mound.
  • Asahi Shrine, founded in 1740, is east of the main shrine.
