Ōsu Kannon Temple

Ōsu Kannon is a historic temple housing a national treasure, worth visiting for its cultural significance.
What it is
- A temple of the Shingon sect Chisan school.
- Founded during the Kenkyū era (1190-1199).
- Relocated to Nagoya Castle town in 1612 by Tokugawa Ieyasu.
- One of Japan's Three Great Kannon temples.

- Main hall, rebuilt in 1970 with reinforced concrete.
- Hotei statue, one of the Nagoya Seven Lucky Gods.
- Shinpuku-ji Library, also called Ōsu Bunko.
- Oldest manuscript of the Kojiki in the library.
