Jokyuji Temple is a historic Jodo-shu temple with unique statues and family graves.
What it is
- A Jodo-shu temple in Achi Village, Nagano Prefecture.
- Founded in 1219 by Shonen Shonin.
- Revived in 1532 by Kanyo Shonin.
- Principal image is Amida Nyorai.
What to see
- The Sanmon gate, built in 1977.
- Seated statue of Enma Daio inside the Sanmon.
- Enma Daio statue was created in 1663.
- Ichigon Kannon-do enshrines Seikanzeon Bosatsu.
- Miyazaki and Ichioka family graves are historic sites.
