Dainen-ji Temple

What it is

• A Jodo sect temple founded by Priest Eikyu in 1452.
• The temple is dedicated to the principal deity Amida Nyorai.
• It moved to its current location in the mid-seventeenth century.
• The site once served as a temporary elementary school in 1873.

What to see

• The Imaichi Dainenji Kofun burial mound located on the temple grounds.
• A main hall that was rebuilt in 1899 following a fire.
