A historic Bando City temple featuring rare cultural artifacts and a lineage tracing back to a high-ranking disciple of Shinran.
What it is
- A Shinshu Otani-ha temple located in Bando City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
- Originally founded as Shotoku-ji with Prince Shotoku as the legendary founder.
- Converted from the Tendai sect to Jodo Shinshu under the priest Shinsho.
- Renamed to its current name in 1664 following a move from Saitama.

- A wooden seated Amida Nyorai statue designated as a prefectural cultural property.
- The Raigo-zu Itabi which is a city-designated cultural property.
