Unsei-ji Temple
雲晴寺
Unsei-ji Temple is a Soto Zen temple, rebuilt after war, with a historic gate and garden.
What it is
- A Sōtō Zen Buddhist temple.
- Renamed Unsei-ji in 1639.
- Principal image is Shakamuni Buddha.
- Served as bodaiji for many feudal retainers.
What to see
- The Sanmon gate, rebuilt in 1700.
- The main hall, rebuilt in 2004.
- Miyamoto Musashi's garden, restored in 2003.
