Raikō-ji Temple

Raikō-ji Temple is an ancient Buddhist site with historic statues and a unique temple bell.
What it is
- A temple of the Jodo sect of Buddhism.
- Founded by Gyoki in 749 AD.

- Main hall rebuilt in 1996.
- Standing Amitabha Nyorai statue, possibly Kamakura period.
- Seated Yakushi Nyorai statue from the Edo period.
- Seated monk statue, possibly from the Edo period.
- Temple bell, also called the Longevity Bell, dated 1684.
- Grave for Ochiyo Hanbei, a Joruri play character.
