Reinomimae-sha
鈴之御前社
A small, historic shrine in Nagoya, offering a unique purification ritual and summer festival.
What it is
- An auxiliary shrine of Atsuta Jingu in Nagoya.
- Dedicated to the deity Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto.
- Locally known as Rei-no-Miya.
- Travelers purified themselves here before visiting Atsuta.
What to see
- Narrow shrine grounds, only a few meters wide.
- A river called Shojin-gawa flowed nearby.
When to go
- Natsukoshi-no-Harae festival on July 31st.
- Chinowa-kuguri ritual is part of the festival.
Getting there
- Located southwest of Atsuta Jingu Tenmacho Station.
- Difficult to find from the national road.
