What it is

  • An auxiliary shrine of Atsuta Jingu in Nagoya.
  • Dedicated to the deity Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto.
  • Locally known as Rei-no-Miya.
  • Travelers purified themselves here before visiting Atsuta.

What to see

  • Narrow shrine grounds, only a few meters wide.
  • A river called Shojin-gawa flowed nearby.

  • Natsukoshi-no-Harae festival on July 31st.
