Ryūge-ji Temple

What it is

• A Shingon-shu Omuro-ha sect temple, founded in 1499 by Yuben.
• Its mountain name is Chisoku-zan, with Dainichi Nyorai as its principal image.
• The head temple is Ninna-ji in Kyoto.
• Tokugawa Ieyasu stayed here in 1591.

What to see

• The rebuilt temple, after burning down in 1826.
• Daikokuten, enshrined as part of the Kanazawa Shichifukujin.

• Spring, for the Peony Festival.
