Ryūshō-in Temple

Ryūshō-in Temple: a historic Tendai temple, part of a pilgrimage, with important cultural properties.
What it is
- A Tendai sect temple, founded in 838 by Jikaku Daishi Ennin.
- Its mountain name is Namekawa-san, commonly called Namekawa Kannon.
- It is the 28th temple of the Bandō Sanjūsankasho pilgrimage.
- The principal image is Juichimen Kannon Bosatsu.
What to see
- Kannon-dō, rebuilt in 1696, is a Prefectural Tangible Cultural Property.
- Niōmon, rebuilt between 1501 and 1504, is a National Important Cultural Property.
