Ryūshō-in Temple

What it is

• A Buddhist temple of the Shingon-shu Chizan-ha sect.
• Founded in 733 by Gyōki.
• Rebuilt in 1182 by Kiso Yoshinaka.
• Had a terakoya (temple school) in 1783.

• The principal image is the Eleven-faced Kannon Bosatsu.
• A wooden Eleven-faced Kannon statue is a National Important Cultural Property.
