Saifuku-ji Temple

What it is

• A Jodo sect temple founded by the priest Shogyo in 1395
• Restored at its current location by Denyo Seiko in 1574
• The current main hall is a reinforced concrete structure built in 1984
• Formerly the head temple for branch sites Jokyu-in and Jizo-ji

What to see

• Six Jizo statues dating back to the Kyoho era
• A monument dedicated to Tokuhon Shonin on the grounds
• A memorial dedicated to victims of railway accidents
• The modern reinforced concrete main hall building

• Located a nine minute walk from Nishikawaguchi Station
