What it is

  • A Koyasan Shingon sect temple.
  • Also known as Shotengu Saikoji.
  • Founded in 658 by En no Ozunu.
  • Formerly called Settsu-no-kuni Jinguji.

What to see

  • Main hall enshrines a Daishokangi-ten statue.
  • Daikokuten statue from the mid-Muromachi period.

When to go

  • January 1st for Gantan-sai Shushoue.
  • February 3rd for Setsubun Yakuyoke Hoshimatsuri.
  • October 15th and 16th for the Tengu Festival.
