Saikoku-ji Temple is an ancient Buddhist temple with a secret Buddha, worth visiting for its history.
What it is
- A Daigoha Shingon sect grand head temple.
- Founded between 729 and 749 AD.
- Rebuilt in 1066 by imperial order.
- Became an imperial prayer temple in 1082.
