Sairen-ji Temple

Sairen-ji is a historic Buddhist temple with ancient statues and stone tablets, a short walk from Shimo Station.
What it is
- A Shingon-shu Chizan-ha Buddhist temple.
- Founded by the monk Junkei Ajari.
- Established during the Koan era (1278-1288).

- Seated Amitabha Nyorai statue, principal image.
- Amitabha Nyorai statue from early Kamakura period.
- Bishamonten statue from the Muromachi period.
- Eleven Itabi stone tablets on the grounds.
- Many Itabi from Kamakura to Muromachi periods.
- Current main hall rebuilt in 1932.
