Sakurai Shrine is a historic site with Sakai City's only National Treasure building.
What it is
- Also known as Niwadani Hachimangu.
- Dedicated to Emperor Ojin, Emperor Chuai, and Empress Jingu.
- Shaden was constructed in 1337.
- Rebuilt between 1688 and 1704.

- Haiden is a National Treasure, built in early Kamakura period.
- Main hall rebuilt in 1881.
- Chumon (inner gate) built in 1931.
- Kamidani no Koodori is an intangible folk cultural property.
- Shrine has Osaka Prefecture designated cultural properties.
