Sanzen-in Temple

What it is

• A Tendai Buddhist temple in Ohara dedicated to the deity Yakushi Nyorai.
• One of the three Monzeki temples where members of the Imperial Family served as abbots.
• Founded in the 8th century on Mount Hiei and moved to this site in 1871.
• The temple grounds are situated between the Ryosen and Rittsen rivers.
