What it is
- A hot spring resort area located on the shore of Lake Akaya in Minakami Town.
- Part of the Minakami National Health Resort Hot Spring Area with sodium and calcium sulfate waters.
- The area was reportedly named by Uesugi Kenshin in 1560.
- The original hot spring moved in 1956 following the construction of a dam.
