Seigan-ji Temple
青巌寺
Seigan-ji Temple is the head priest's residence, built for Hideyoshi's mother.
What it is
- Residence of the head priest of Koyasan Shingon Buddhism.
- Founded in 1592 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
- Built for the memorial service of Hideyoshi's mother.
- Former site of Daitenpo-in Temple, built in 1132.
