Senryuji Temple is a historic Soto Zen temple with ancient roots and impressive Edo-period architecture.
What it is
- A Soto Zen Buddhist temple in Komae City, Tokyo.
- Founded in 765 by Ryoben.
- Originally Hossō and Kegon, later Tendai, then Soto Zen.
- Restored in 1591 by Ishiya Kiyosada.

- Main hall, built in 1706.
- Kaisando hall, built in 1847.
- Shoro-mon gate, built in 1844.
- Sanmon gate, built in 1859.
