Shichinomiya Shrine
七宮神社
Shichinomiya Shrine is a historic Kobe shrine, rebuilt after war, dedicated to Onamuchi-no-mikoto.
What it is
- One of the eight shrines of Ikuta Eishin.
- Main deity is Onamuchi-no-mikoto.
- Built in 1161 by Taira no Kiyomori.
- Destroyed in 1945 Kobe air raid.
What to see
- Imperial plaque bestowed in 1583.
- Three model ships dedicated in 1799.
- Rebuilt shrine office from 1928.
