What it is

  • A tumulus in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture.
  • Designated as a national historic site.
  • Largest keyhole-shaped tomb mound in the Okute Pond area.
  • Also called Otsuka No. 1 Kofun.

What to see

  • The tumulus has a total length of about 55 meters.
  • Posterior circular part has a diameter of about 40 meters.
  • Cylindrical Haniwa were placed on the mound.
  • River stones covered the base of the mound.
  • A clay coffin was found in the posterior circular part.
