What it is

  • A Nichiren Shoshu temple.
  • Established in 1289 by Nikko.
  • Founding patron was Nanjo Tokimitsu.
  • Known as Shimonobo because of Oishiji.

What to see

  • Grave of the 3rd Chief Priest Nichimoku.
  • Current main hall completed in 1973.

When to go

  • Oeshiki ceremony is held on December 15th.
