Shiratori Shrine (Togo)

What it is

• A Shinto shrine dedicated to the primary deity Yamato Takeru.
• The site has existed at least since the Muromachi period.
• It was formerly known as Morowa Daimyojin and renamed in 1501.
• The shrine is currently managed by Fuji Sengen Shrine.

What to see

• A worship hall originally constructed in 1908.
• The main hall which was rebuilt in 1979.
• A stone torii gate donated to the shrine in 1933.
• Smaller Inari and Ontake shrines located within the grounds.
• A sacred horse statue donated in 1996.
