Shōgaku-ji Temple, also known as Juodo, is a historic temple with a connection to Tokugawa Ieyasu.

What it is

  • A temple of the Jodo Shinshu Yengoin school.
  • Commonly known as Juodo, named after the surrounding area.
  • Received a red seal letter from Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1602.
  • Originally housed Kannon Bosatsu as its principal image.

  • The main hall's plaque reads "Daishido."
  • Main hall enshrines a standing Amida Nyorai statue.
