What it is

  • Head temple of the Jishu sect, also called Yugyō-ji Temple.
  • Founded in 1325 by Matano Goro Kagehira.
  • Recognized as head of 274 Jishu temples in 1631.

  • A 12-scroll painting of Ippen Shōnin, a National Treasure.

  • A large ginkgo tree, estimated to be 600 years old.
