Shōrin-ji is a Rinzai Buddhist temple with a history of influential patrons.
What it is
- A Rinzai sect Myōshin-ji school temple.
- Founded in 1615 by Ryōdō Sōketsu.
- Renamed Shōrin-ji in 1649.
- Many daimyō and hatamoto were parishioners.
