Shōzō-in Temple
正蔵院
Shōzō-in Temple is a historic Tendai temple in Shinjuku, easily accessible for a quick visit.
What it is
- A Tendai sect temple.
- Founded by Enkan between 1457 and 1460.
- Moved to its current location in 1688.
- Yōzen-in Temple merged with it in 1911.
What to see
- The principal image, Yakushi Nyorai, known as 'Kusakari Yakushi'.
- New statues of Enma Daiō and Fudō Myōō.
