Sosanji Temple is a historic Soto Zen temple with unique memorial towers, a short walk from Keikyu Kawasaki Station.
What it is
- A Soto Zen temple.
- Founded by Gento in the early Kamakura period.
- Became the family temple of the Sasaki clan.
- Converted to Soto sect during the Tensho era revival.
What to see
- Mamiya Nobumori's memorial tower.
- Older memorial tower for meshimori onna.
- Newer memorial tower for meshimori onna, built 1988.
