Sosanji Temple is a historic Soto Zen temple with unique memorial towers, a short walk from Keikyu Kawasaki Station.

What it is

  • A Soto Zen temple.
  • Founded by Gento in the early Kamakura period.
  • Became the family temple of the Sasaki clan.
  • Converted to Soto sect during the Tensho era revival.

  • Mamiya Nobumori's memorial tower.
  • Older memorial tower for meshimori onna.
  • Newer memorial tower for meshimori onna, built 1988.
