What it is

  • A Shinto shrine located on the south side of Kurihama Port.
  • Dedicated to the deity Nakatsutsuo no Mikoto for maritime safety.
  • Formerly known as Kurihama Daimyojin and currently managed by Yokosuka Suwa Shrine.
  • A site of historical significance recorded in the medieval chronicle Azuma Kagami.
