What it is
- One of Japan's three great Sumiyoshi shrines.
- Enshrines the Sumiyoshi Sanjin, gods of maritime protection.
- It is the Ichinomiya of Chikuzen Province.
- Over 2,300 Sumiyoshi shrines exist nationwide.

- Main hall, rebuilt in 1623, is a National Important Cultural Property.
- Noh theater, completed in 1938, is a city cultural property.
- Excavated Yayoi period bronze halberds and spears.
