Takaya Shrine, located in Habikino City, Osaka Prefecture, holds a significant place in history, having been founded by imperial command in 538. It is recognized as a Shikinaisha shrine and is listed in the Engishiki Jinmyocho, indicating its ancient importance.
Throughout its long history, the shrine has undergone changes, including being known as Hachiman-sha during the Edo period. It was renamed Takaya Shrine in 1868 and later ranked as a village shrine in 1872. In 1904, it merged with Shiratori Shrine.
Visitors will find that Nigihayahi-no-mikoto and Hirokuni Oshitake Kanahi-no-mikoto are enshrined here. The shrine underwent a restoration in 1954, maintaining its presence for those interested in its historical and spiritual background.
