Takefutsu Nishinomiya Shrine
建布都西宮神社
A historic shrine in Tokushima restored during the Muromachi period, enshrining spirits originally invited from the famous Izumo Taisha.
What it is
- A candidate for the ancient shrine mentioned in the historical Engishiki Jinmeicho records.
- Lord Harada Yamato-no-kami restored the site during the Muromachi period.
- Enshrines the deities Kotoshironushi-no-mikoto, Takemikazuchi-no-kami, and Futsunushi-no-kami.
- The current site was formed when Nishinomiya Shrine was merged here in 2000.
