Takihara Shrine is an Ise Grand Shrine sub-shrine with unique features worth a short visit.
What it is
- A sessha (auxiliary shrine) of Ise Grand Shrine's Inner Shrine.
- Dedicated to the deity Manago-no-kami.
- Re-established in 1663 by Omiya-guji Kawabe Seicho.
- Rebuilt in October 1904.

- Shinmei-zukuri style building with a thatched roof.
- Unusual saisenbako (offering box) for an Ise Jingu sessha.
- Shrine grounds cover approximately 5,890.9 square meters.
- Located along the Miyagawa River.
