Takuzudama Shrine is an ancient site on Tsushima with unique deities and important cultural properties.
What it is
- Dedicated to Amaterasu Omikami and Hikohohodemi no Mikoto.
- Original deity is Takuzu-no-kami, unique to Tsushima.
- Identified with Takuzu Shrine in the Engishiki Jinmyocho.
- Formerly a site of Tenpo faith, Shinto and Buddhist syncretism.
