Tana-hachimangū
田名八幡宮
Tana-hachimangu is a historic shrine in Sagamihara with unique stones and two annual festivals.
What it is
- A shrine in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
- Founded in the year 798.
- Originally dedicated to Tenchi-sha.
- Became guardian of Tana Village in the Edo period.
What to see
- Three sacred stones on the grounds.
- The stones are Jinjii-ishi, Banbaa-ishi, and Mekake-ishi.
When to go
- Matomachi festival is held in January.
- Shishimai festival is held in September.
