Tengen-ji Temple

What it is

• A temple of the Rinzai sect Daitoku-ji school.
• Its mountain name is Tamon-zan.
• Founded in 1719, then relocated.
• Rebuilt after 1845 fire and 1945 war damage.

What to see

• A wooden statue of Bishamonten, main object of worship.
• The statue is said to be made by Prince Shotoku.
