  • Founded by Kūkai in 816.
  • Originally named Inukaiyama Henjōan.
  • Renamed Tenpōrin-ji in 853.

What to see

  • Current main hall built by Daiajjari Ryūben.
  • Main hall is an Edo period construction.
  • Shrine buildings are from the Muromachi period.
  • Daisuka Kofun, a square tumulus, is behind living quarters.
  • Myōjinzuka Kofun is behind the shrine building.
