Togaku-ji Temple is a historic Shingon Buddhist temple with unique Nio guardian statues.
What it is
- A Shingon-shu Buzan-ha Buddhist temple.
- Founded in 1491 by Minamoto Masa in Kanda.
- Moved to its current Tabata location around 1600.
What to see
- Main hall and Fudo-do hall.
- Kongo Rikishi statues covered in red paper.
- Nio statues erected in 1641.
- Nio statues are a Kita Ward cultural property.
