Togakuin is a historic Shingon temple with a secret Buddha, worth visiting for its unique heritage.
What it is
- A Shingon-shu Chizan-ha temple.
- Founded in 1288 by the monk Gekku.
- Originally named Daiganji in 1558.
What to see
- The principal image is a Yakushi Nyorai statue.
- The Yakushi Nyorai is a hibutsu (secret Buddha).
- It is opened every 20 years by Kono descendants.

- 21 minutes walk from Chitose-Funabashi Station.
