Tōkō-ji Temple

What it is

• A Shinshu Otani-ha temple founded in 1560 by the monk Daien.
• The temple was originally established in Aichi Prefecture before moving to Edo in 1609.
• It relocated to its current site following the Great Fire of Meireki in 1657.
• Birthplace of poet Toki Zenmaro and site of Ishikawa Takuboku's funeral.
