What it is

  • An ancient shrine traditionally founded during the reign of Empress Suiko.
  • Considered a Shikinaisha of the Katagata District in former Mino Province.
  • Dedicated to the deities Agatasumi no Mikoto and Take-nunakawa-wake no Mikoto.
  • Renamed in 1873 after being known as Katagata Tsu Daimyojin during the Edo period.
