Tsūhō-ji is a historic temple site in Osaka with significant Minamoto clan ties.

What it is

  • Former family temple of the Kawachi Genji clan.
  • Founded in 1043 by Minamoto no Yoriyoshi.
  • Destroyed by war, rebuilt in the Edo period.
  • Abolished in 1868 due to Haibutsu kishaku.

  • Minamoto no Yoriyoshi's tomb is on the grounds.
