Tsuken Island
津堅島
Known as Carrot Island, this Okinawan destination features extensive carrot farms, a unique observation deck, and historical sites from 1896.
What it is
- A small island in Uruma City measuring 1.88 square kilometers in total area.
- Nicknamed Carrot Island because carrot farming occupies one third of the land.
- Site of Okinawa's first lighthouse which was originally built in 1896.
- A historical location that experienced intense fighting during 1945.

- A carrot-shaped observation deck located near the sands of Tomai Beach.

- Take a regular boat from Heshikiya Port to arrive at Tsuken Port.
