Ungan-ji Temple is a historic Zen training center with cultural properties, worth visiting for its serene atmosphere.
What it is
- A temple founded between 1126 and 1131 as Old Buddhism.
- Re-established as a Rinzai Zen temple in 1283.
- Once one of Japan's four great Zen training centers.
